Grey Day Dairy

Ancestral food for modern life

Welcome to the Grey Day Dairy
On a bold outcropping in Portland’s West Hills, lies a uniquely presented farm. We are on the very edge of Portland. As such, we are positioned to conveniently offer our raw milk and meat products directly to you at the farm and our online store.

Our food production goal is two fold:

1. Honor the time tested ways of our ancestors
2. Utilize modern understandings of health, science and technology

Two years ago we came to this property and are now poised to begin developing the infrastructure. Farming is not an undertaking for today - it is a generational endeavor - one that must be done in cooperation with nature.
A year of change…
This year will see the beginning of a new dairy building. The cows will love it, as the parlor has been designed with their needs first. It will incorporate modern sanitary features but in a package that fits our small farm size. This is exciting as it will make driving from SW & SE Portland and Beaverton 10 minutes closer.
Also, the building has been designed with your needs in mind - no longer will we be selling out of the driveway!

Do you want secured access to fresh, locally grown, sustainably grown food?
In this time of food safety scares and factory farms we provide clean and naturally nutrient-dense food.
Our focus is on providing traditional foods for those who need nutrient-density in their diet. WAPF, GAPS, Paleo, Ketogenic, etc. are all ideas we understand and wish to support. We believe the traditional foods of our ancestors were the healthiest and best for our bodies. While we believe in this way of eating, we support no political or lobbyist groups. We believe that everyone should listen to their own bodies and make their own decisions about what to eat, and what not to eat - freedom of ingestion! We munch our food quietly… except for the bone broth.
Life in all its fullness is Mother Nature obeyed.
Weston A. Price
Weston A. Price was a dentist from Cleveland, Ohio, who travelled the world in the 1930s in search of people with better teeth and his patients. What he found was an astonishing correlation between processed foods and tooth decay. Further observation was that general health was also associated with processed foods.
You may read his book, “Nutrition and Physical Degeneration” online for free at Journey to Forever

His work has greatly influenced our thinking on nutrition. In a nutshell: Eat food our ancestors did; and by extension, raise food as our ancestors did.
